Welcome to our website! This page is designed to help us share some basic information about ourselves and our upcoming wedding.
In the About Us section, we have written mini-bios for each other. Because we grew up in completely different places, most of our friends and extended families haven't met! We hope to be able to answer some of your questions in this section.
As we have more information about the wedding to share with you, we will be adding more sections, so check back later!

11 February 2012 :: Added a section for our wedding registry! ~M&K
This is our wedding venue! The hotel is right on the Seattle waterfront,
but the rooms may be a bit tight for families with children.
We like Hyatt Place because it offers rooms with two queens, has a reasonable rate, and its
complimentary shuttle service can take you to the Edgewater (as well as various other city sites).
Further from the waterfront, but closer to the shopping district...
Michael WhiteMike was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. He is the oldest of three boys (his brothers are Craig and Sam). Mike is currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics at UCSD. I have to admit that I can never quite understand his research, but this Planarity game (go play!) always reminds me of his mathing. In his free time, Mike likes to help me make wedding websites. |
Karen WangKaren grew up in San Jose, California and now lives in Seattle, Washington with her family. Her parents are originally from Taiwan. Her interests in Physics, Chemistry, and Shiny Things led her to pursue Geochemistry, in which she recently got her master's degree from the University of Michigan. Besides rocks, she likes books, singing, and her younger sister, Jennifer. |

| My first memory of Karen is from the first week of Caltech, where our entire class was going through orientation in a hotel in the mountains. Later the next week I noticed her reading in her room as I walked through the dormitories. But I didn't actually meet Karen until a year later through mutual friends. | First Memories

I don't remember Mike from orientation at all. =X I do remember that there were 10 Michaels in our class and making a resolution to meet all of them. But it wasn't until sophomore year that I met Mike when he and Michael Inadomi were both at Leyan's Chester apartment when I stopped by to visit Leyan. |

| I remember once Mike took me to Mi Piace in Old Pas. We ordered calamari, which is always yum. I got the gnocchi and I think he got fettucine alfredo? After the date, I wanted to ask him "officially" to be my boyfriend. I remember feeling silly about how nervous I was even though I already knew he'd say yes. | First Memories

When I first started dating Karen, I would often drop by her room on the other side of campus and bring her chocolate. After several rounds of this, her roommate René asked, "Where's my chocolate?" So, soon I was bringing two bars of chocolate, and she told Karen that she approved of her dating me. |

| My original intentions were to acquire an acoustic guitar, fly to Michigan, and serenade Karen by moonlight. The February weather in Ann Arbor tried to alter these plans, but through the negative temperatures, I persevered and crept up to her window, guitar in hand. Alas, when my partially numbed fingers strummed the strings... | First Memories

So what happened is that I heard the guitar music coming from downstairs and I thought to myself, "Hm, I didn't know my downstairs neighbors knew how to play guitar." So poor Mike was standing out there in the snow strumming away and I had no idea. I was completely shocked when he knocked on my door. He got down on one knee and I said, "Of course." |
